Category was the old (bad) word for "Species", and is being replaced. So, one could enter a "what" as "Coal Creek Canyon Elk Herd" and a "species" as "Elk". This is to allow folks to have preferred names (e.g. Catamount) for the species "Cougar", but also to allow for 'celebrities' (e.g. 'Tri-Bob' a local three legged 'Bobcat'.)
